Battling invasive ivy, blackberry, and caring for native plant communities is hard work with purpose and meaning. West Seattle has a little-known creek, Puget Creek, that is culturally important to the Duwamish Tribe. Salmon once spawned in this creek that drains into the Duwamish River near the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center.
